These guidelines cover everything people write in ITAV for each other to read: village posts and replies, the Market, direct messages and the trusted circle. They sit alongside our Terms of Service. Breaking them can get content hidden and, for serious or repeated breaches, an account closed.
1. Be kind
Everyone here is raising someone, often on very little sleep. Disagree with an idea, never attack a person. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate or shaming of another parent's choices.
2. No ads or spam
Selling or giving away your own family's things in the Market is welcome. Advertising a business, posting the same thing again and again, chain messages and links to other selling sites are not.
3. No medical advice to others
Share what worked for your family, as your experience. Don't diagnose someone else's child or tell them to start, stop or change a medicine. For a child's health, talk to a doctor or nurse — and if a child is in danger, call your local emergency number first. ITAV is not an emergency service.
4. No personal info
Don't post addresses, phone numbers, school names, ID numbers or anyone's private details — yours, your children's or someone else's. Arrange a Market pickup in direct messages, and meet in a public place.
5. Keep children safe
Don't post photos of other people's children without their parent's permission. Anything that sexualises or endangers a child is removed and may be reported to the authorities.
6. Report and block
- Report: open the … menu on a post, reply, listing, chat or person and choose Report. Pick a reason and, if you like, add a note. You stop seeing what you reported straight away.
- Block: from the same menu, choose Block. You and that person stop seeing each other's posts, replies, listings and chats, and neither of you can message the other. They aren't told. You can unblock them any time under Me → Blocked people.
7. What we do with a report
We review every report within 24 hours. If something breaks these guidelines we hide it for everyone, and for serious or repeated breaches we can close the account. We don't tell the person who reported it, and we don't tell the person reported who made the report.
8. Contact
Anything else — or something that can't wait — email hello@itavapp.com. If you are worried about a child, write to hello@itavapp.com; safeguarding reports jump every other queue.
